Puntland State aviation minister Eng. Hassan Haji Said
The Puntland State of Somalia explains its position on the deterioration of relations with its neighbors Galmudug State about the management of two airports in Galkayo town, capital of Mudug province .
Puntland State aviation minister Eng. Hassan Haji Said stated that their argument is based on Galmudug’s plan to build airport that is against the international laws on construction airports.
The minister reiterated that the two airports in the town are too close to an extent it may create interruption and further conflicts.
His remarks comes a time when Galmudug State President Abdi Hassan Awale “Qeybdid” warned fresh conflict between Puntland and Galmudug in Galkayo through a letter he sent to federal government of Somalia and United Nations special representative for Somalia Nicholas Kay.
On the hand the former Galmudug president Mohamed Ahmed Alin urged the two administrations to solve their difference through peaceful dialogue.
