Somali Parliament Session Ends In Scuffle
Saturday’s Somali parliamentary session ended in a stalemate, with an uproar in the hall by rival MPs.
The agenda of the meeting was the impact of Covid-19, but some lawmakers expressed skepticism that there was a plan to extended Farmajo’s term.
Opposition lawmakers also reportedly did not sign the form and began blocking the speaker from chairing the sitting as they were in front of his seat.
Video footage from the hall showed the lawmakers in a state of shock after the noise gripped the meeting which was finally canceled.
The political situation in the country is worsening and the leaders are still in dispute over the electoral process.https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-4084524340936561&output=html&h=417&slotname=2051219328&adk=3418276709&adf=581116565&pi=t.ma~as.2051219328&w=696&cr_col=4&cr_row=2&fwrn=2&lmt=1616919460&rafmt=9&psa=1&format=696×417&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.radioshabelle.com%2Fsomali-parliament-session-ends-in-scuffle%2F&flash=0&crui=image_stacked&fwr=0&wgl=1&dt=1616919458813&bpp=7&bdt=1122&idt=1236&shv=r20210322&cbv=r20190131&ptt=9&saldr=aa&abxe=1&cookie=ID%3D6b6c07cac067b227-22339913d6ba00e8%3AT%3D1616171776%3ART%3D1616171776%3AS%3DALNI_MaN_EaXLiFDYPRmKDH0HJxU075yxg&prev_fmts=728×90%2C0x0%2C468x60%2C468x60&nras=1&correlator=904471176390&frm=20&pv=1&ga_vid=1810214298.1616919459&ga_sid=1616919459&ga_hid=11441774&ga_fc=0&u_tz=120&u_his=6&u_java=0&u_h=768&u_w=1366&u_ah=728&u_aw=1366&u_cd=24&u_nplug=3&u_nmime=4&adx=141&ady=1458&biw=1349&bih=625&scr_x=0&scr_y=0&eid=44740079%2C44739387&oid=3&pvsid=1007198254875361&pem=602&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.radioshabelle.com%2F&rx=0&eae=0&fc=896&brdim=0%2C0%2C0%2C0%2C1366%2C0%2C1366%2C728%2C1366%2C625&vis=1&rsz=%7C%7CoeEbr%7C&abl=CS&pfx=0&fu=8320&bc=23&ifi=4&uci=a!4&btvi=3&fsb=1&xpc=8mULroUN3R&p=http%3A//www.radioshabelle.com&dtd=1263
