Farmajo Condoles Over Death Of Tanzania President
Somalia’s President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has condoled with the people of Tanzania following the death of Tanzanian President John Magufuli Pombe.
“On my behalf and the government of Somalia, I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the United Republic of Tanzania for the loss of President John Magafuli,” Farmaajo said in a statement.
News of Magufuli’s death followed weeks of wild speculations after he went missing from the public eye for about two weeks.
According to Suluhu, Magufuli began feeling unwell and was taken to Jakaya Kikwete Heart Institute on Saturday, March 6.
“He was allowed to go back home and continue with his responsibilities, but the condition worsened on Sunday, March 14, when he was taken back to the hospital for treatment of a chronic heart disease,” Suluhu indicated.
The vice president of Tanzania declared 14 days of mourning, a period in which national flags will fly half-mast.
