AMISOM and Somali Security Forces tookover new locations in Galgudud region
Somali security forces along with African Union Forces AMISOM on Saturday took over Rundhigtar, Kawada and Elasha neighborhoods near Elbur of Galgadud region of Central Somalia, says official.
Colonel Ahmed Kahiye, Commander of Somali security forces of Galgadud region speaking at Somalireport24.com said that al shabaab withdrew these locations after they have r,eceived the information that security forces and AMISOM were ahead.
“ We took over these locations without resistance and they have fled away “ said Colonel Kahiye.
“ We will continue our efflorts to fight against al shabaab until eliminating them from the region” he added.
Elbur is the only district in Galgudud remaining under the control of al shabaab
