A landmine explosion in the Somali capital has killed deputy District commissioner on Tuesday.
The roadside mine targeted avehicle carrying Abdi Mohamed Mohamud, the deputy commissioner of the Daynile district, while traveling to the Darusalam neighbourhood in Mogadishu.
The government has pointed the blame on Al-Qaeda linked Al-shabaab in statement.
“Terrorist attack using a landmine killed on tuesday, Daynile Deputy District Commissioner Abdi Mohamed Mohamud, ” Ministry of Information said in a statement.
The militant group did not comment on the incident but they have claimed responsibility for similar attacks on government officials in the past.
