Unidentified war planes hit Al-Shabaab convoy in the outskirt Qalimow village in Middle Shabelle region.
Al-Shabaab fighters on Tuesday briefly took the control of Qalimow village, just 50 km South Jowhar town before they pull out, according to local residents.
Military sources confirmed to the media that suspected U.S. drone strike targeted Al-Shabaab vehicles near Qalimow village.
The military did not identify who was the target and the casualties caused by the attack.
The attack comes amid operations to hunt down Al-Shabaab fighters in southern Somalia were intensified.
Several Al-Shabaab hideouts were recently discovered and destroyed in Middle Jubba and Lower Shabelle regions with an undisclosed number of its fighters killed.
However, the number of Al-Shabaab attacks that are being witnessed in the Southern area continue to increase with members of the public and even the security agencies themselves raising concerns over the same.
