The director of Somali Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority (SCAMA), Yussuf Abdi Abdulle has been suspended, Somali Ministry Civil Aviation confirmed.

Mr. Abdulle who is an ally of the incumbent President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo was sent on unspecified-period of Compulsory leave.
The director was served the leave notice on Monday and Ahmed Moalim who was his deputy serve his position as an acting basis.
In a statement, Somali minister for civil aviation, Abdullahi Salad Mohamed said the suspension of the director was based on the necessity of transparency and accountability.
The suspension of Abdullahi comes just hours after the country’s minister for religious affairs and endowment, Hassan Moalim Hussein was fired.
Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire in a decree issued on Monday said the dismissal took immediate effect and that Hussein’s deputy will take over until the appointment of the new minister.
The prime minister did not give reasons for the drastic action on Hussein who is also a Member of Parliament.
