Farmaajo met in his office with the Ministers of Fisheries and Marine Resources Abdullahi Bidhan Warsame, Transport and Aviation Durran Ahmed Farah and thanked them for their efforts to sell fish and exchange it for khat in the country.
”President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo congratulates Somali entrepreneurs for their efforts in uplifting the economy & boosting regional trade after the 1st shipment of fish to Ethiopia at Aden Adde Int’l Airport,” Villa Somalia said in a statement.

Farmaajo praised the growing commercial market for Somali fishermen and reaffirmed that it was time to compete with regional countries for domestic production.
The meeting was also attended by the General Manager of the fish export company, Mohamed Ibrahim Ali (Cajiib).
On Sunday Ethiopia and Somalia signed a trade agreement that would see Mogadishu export fish to Addis Ababa.
Ethiopia in return will import Khat. Somalia’s Minister of Fisheries Abdullahi Bidhan and Addis Ababa envoy to Somalia Abdifatah Hassan signed the deal.
