Somali Police detention Female journalist Sacdiya Food Cade
A reporter working for the Freelancer based in Mogadishu has been arrested by Somali police while on duty to cover the 72-anniversory of the establishment of the police.
Sacdiya Abdulaahi Food Cade was blocked from entering at General Kahiye police academy in Mogadishu to attend the celebrations of the 72 anniversary. He is in police custody in Hamar-jajab district with no charges against him.
In a secret phone contact inside the jail, the detained reporter said he has been arrested under the order of Hamar-jajab district police commissioner Ali Muheydin.
The detention Of Sacdiya journalist is part of increasing harassment against the press freedom in Somalia, a country that is ranked one of the dangerous countries in the globe to be a journalist, according media organizations.
