Hassan Abgaal introduces clause that would allow Puntland to secede from Somalia
Puntland Minister of Finance Hassan Shire Abgal said a constitutional provision would give Puntland the right to secede from Somalia in the absence of a federal government.
Speaking at a meeting held on the outskirts of Garowe today, Minister Abgaal indicated that Puntland would never accept anything less than a federal government of Somalia and that it would abide by the agreement.
Hassan Abgal, also made it clear that Puntland would secede from Somalia if it gave up on a federal system of government.
