Elders Start mediation efforts easing tension between Puntland and Gal Mudug
Traditional elders in Gal Mudug and Puntland started mediation efforts to reduce tension between Puntland and Gal Mudug, says traditional elder.
The elders were convening meetings to discuss how the rift between the sides could be resolved.
Sultan Abdikariim Mohamoud Dagal, a prominent elder in Puntland told Somalireport24.com that the process of the mediation of the conflict is under way.
“We hope that the conflict will be resolved soon and the people living both sides will be able access peace and security ” said Sultan Dagal.
Representatives from both Puntland and Gal Mudug will meet for peace talks under the surveillance of the elders ” he added but did not mentioned a specific timetable for the talks.
