President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo is scheduled to address members of Parliament today to roll back their April 12 decision to extend the two-year term.
Farmaajo, who recently spoke to the public on national TV, said he would address lawmakers on May 1, calling for a return to the September 17 election process, following recent clashes in Mogadishu between pro-government and pro-opposition soldiers.

In a statement, the opposition accused the countries president of blocking aims to hold inclusive elections.
The opposition also warned MPs against taking ”illegal action that may undermine the countries security and electoral process and urged Prime Minister Roble to play his role in bringing together the disputing sides to end the current stalemate.
