At least two people were killed and seven others wounded on Saturday in a landmine in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.
The attack took place in Mogadishu’s Hiliwa district, according to Ahmed Abdulle, a local police officer who spoke to Radio Dalsan over the phone.
“The attack was a landmine explosion attack, an improvised explosive device targeted Carib vehicle,” Abdulle added.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the bomb attack but Somali-based al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group, has been responsible for many deadly bombings in the Horn of Africa country.
Elsewhere, Governor of Bay region in Southwest state Ali Wardhere has survived a suicide bombing after a bomber blew up at a barber in central Baidoa.
Two civilians and one of the governor’s bodyguards were killed in the explosion.
Authorities in Southwest have not yet commented on the incident.
