Consultive meeting between the federal government and regional state leaders scheduled for today has been postponed.
According to Director of Communications of the Presidency Abdirashid Hashi the poll talks were postponed after Galmudug State leader Ahmed Kariye QoorQoor flew to Dhusamareb due to ‘unknown’ reasons.
The talks will resume on Wednesday after a one day break according to Hashi.
“FGS-FMS preliminary Leadership Consultative Meeting in #Mogadishu resolves to take an extra break for today,” Director of Communications of the Presidency Abdirashid Hashi said in a tweet.
“The talks shall therefore resume on Wednesday, April 7th when Galmudug State President H.E @MrQoorqoor rejoins the summit following a brief emergency trip to #Galmudug.”
This comes a day after UN urged Somali leaders to reach an agreement pact through dialogue and encouraged the federal government and regional state leaders for the consulting talks which were held in the past two days at airport hangar in Afisyoni.
“The UN has expressed optimism in the resumption of preliminary talks between the Federal Government and regional leaders.
