8 dead, 5 Injured In Mogadishu Suicide Bombing
At least 8 people have lost their lives and four others sustained injuries after a suicide bomber blew himself at a cafe on Saturday evening in the capital Mogadishu.
In a Statement from Somali Police Spokesman, Sadiq Adan said 8 people including an infant among those killed when a suicide bomber blew up himself at a cafe near a Shangani police station.
”We lost six people and four others wounded in tonight’s attack in Shangani district,” the statement from the spokesman read.
Among those killed included two friends after the suicide bomber blew himself up at the cafe.Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble condemned the attack which claimed the lives of young men.
”I condemn the killing of young people by Al Shabaab terrorists in Mogadishu,” PM Roble said.
”It shows its commitment to the destruction of society and the future of the country. May God have mercy on the dead, may God heal the wounded.”
The attack in the capital came hours after the militant group attacked two military bases in the Lower Shabelle region.
The Somali military reacted and repulsed the attack asserting the attackers had “heavy losses” of dozens of dead.
