The meeting which will take place at the Airport Hotel will focus on issues related to the ongoing political crisis.

Last week, the presidents of Galmudug, South West and Hirshabelle and the governor of Banadir met with President Farmajo and Prime Minister Robleh for several days but leaders of Jubaland and Puntland skipped the talks claiming they were not officially invited by the federal government.

The international community has regularly urged Somalia’s leaders to set aside their agendas and meet “without preconditions” to solve Somalia’s electoral impasse.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s four-year term lapsed on February 8 and the country postponed the election date numerous times.

The opposition has accused the incumbent president of ruling the country against the will of the public and seeking a second term, of attempting to rig the electoral process by packing the electoral boards that select legislators with cronies and supportersSh
