Two Car bombs hit Somali Interior Ministry in Mogadishu

Two suspected Al-Shabaab suicide bombers have simultaneously detonated Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices  (VBIEDs) at the two gates of the Somali Interior Ministry as gunmen on foot stormed the building.

Witnesses say the vehicles laden with explosives targeted the front gate and the back-door of the Ministry’s building.

Gunfire continued as security forces pursued the attackers are inside the building.

Initial pictures from the scene show plumes of smoke from the building.
