Somali President Jets Off To Qatar Amid Diplomatic Spat With UAE
The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has left Mogadishu for Doha on Sunday for an official visit to the State of Qatar.
During his two-day visit, president Farmajo is scheduled to meet with the Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will meet the President at the Amiri Diwan.
Sources at Villa Somalia told Radio Shabelle that the two leaders will discuss bilateral relations and prospects for their development in addition to a number of issues of common concern.
The visit comes as the relations between Somalia and UAE is at “a low point” and soared after authorities in Mogadishu seized in April $9.6m destined to support Somali army.
