MP: Benadir admin should address current security challenges
A member of Somali parliament Dahir Amin Jesow has called on Benadir regional administration to swiftly address the current security challenges in the capital, Mogadishu.
“The regional admin is responsible for the security, so it should respond quickly and more effectively the increasing daily attacks in Mogadishu,” said Jesow in an interview with Radio Shabelle.
The MP urged police to remain on high alert and vigilant of any insecurity acts and Al shabaab attacks, targeting Somali security force members and federal lawmakers in Mogadishu.
Mr Jesow has asked for the community to work with the security agencies of the federal government of Somalia to prevent further Al shabaab attacks in Mogadishu.
Mogadishu has seen in recent days an increase of attacks, including organized assassinations and drive-by shooting against law enforcement personnel and members of the parliament.
