Kenya can’t encroach an inch of Somalia’s land, says foreign minister
The minister of foreign affairs of Somalia Abdisalam Hadliye said that Kenya could not encroach on the country’s border line amid growing concerns over a wall construction.
“Somalia is determined to defend its border line and will not tolerate the nighbouring Kenya and Ethiopia to interfere its sovereignty and territorial integrity at all,” said the foreign minister.
The minister’s remarks came as the federal government has send this week a fact-finding committee to Beled-Hawo town near Somali-Kenyan border, to inspect the construction of 700Km security wall by Kenyan government.
The residents and elders of Beled-Hawo town in Gedo region protested against the construction of the security wall is illegal and insisted Kenya had encroached on Somalia’s soil.
