Somali police chief meets with Interpol boss in Bujumbura
The chief of Somali police Gen Mohamed Sheikh Hassan Hamud has met with The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) boss Jogan Istock in the Burundian capital, Bujumbura on Thursday.
Both chiefs discussed a range of issues concerning security and ways to rebuild, improve the quality and effectiveness of Somali police force to restore peace and stability into the horn of Africa nation.
During the meeting, chief of Somali police Gen Mohamed Sheikh Hassan Hamud has asked Interpol head for a debt burden due to the country’s current financial crisis.
For his part, Interpol head has pledged training support for the police to help Somalia regain its security, source has confirmed to Radio Shabelle station based in Mogadishu.
