Saudi Arabia calls for non-interference of Somali affairs
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has confirmed its firm position towards the importance of respecting the unity, sovereignty and independence of Somalia, preserving its identity and regional integrity, and refraining from interfering in its internal affairs. Instead, it called on all Somali factions to come to one word together with the international community to achieve security and stability on its territories.
Dr. Yousef bin Trad Al-Saadoon, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Cultural Relations said, before the first Ministerial Forum in charge of delivering Somalia’s new deal which was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, that the Kingdom is a leading pioneer in the effort supporting Somalia’s political peaceful process, and the provision of loans and granting assistance to the Somali people on both the bilateral and multilateral levels.
He added that the Saudi Development Fund has implemented a number of developmental projects in the fields of health, education, agriculture and water in Somalia to help alleviate the sufferings of the people in Somalia.
Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Aqeel, the ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Denmark and Lithuania, has taken part in the event.
