Somalia’s Parliament session on a non-confidence Motion against PM concludes into choas
Somalia’s Parliament has delayed on Tuesday a debate on whether to oust the Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed after the situation descended into confusion.
Supporters of the Prime Minister started blowing whistles and chanting “No vote for money”, staring up roar forcing the Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Osman Jawari declare halting the session for a no-confidence motion against the PM.
“ Let it be another day “ said the speaker who did not specified when the motion will be resumed after he tried out several times to securing order in the session
Lawmakers who put forward the no-confidence motion have accused the prime minister of doing a poor job and complained about the slow pace of change as well as Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud reportly insisting that he cannot work with the Prime Minister.
The divergency between the President and the Prime Minister started last month after targeted government reshuffle by the Prime Minister which the President rejected as illegal.
